I created an idle animation for a game character, focusing primarily on breathing to bring the character to life. The model was made and rigged in Maya. A key lesson I learned was balancing the subtlety of an idle animation—making sure the character isn’t overly active or too static. I also needed to ensure that the pose could smoothly transition into other animations, like running or attacking, by placing the feet in a position that aligned with the other movements. This project also helped improve my skills in Maya, teaching me essential workflows like blocking, polishing, and smoothing, while making me more proficient with hotkeys.
